05/21/18 - Good morning! It’s a dreary day here in the Midwest. A great time to grab a cup of joe and settle in for a day of writing.

I wanted to share some news with you. Mission to the Stars: The Search for FTL will be June’s featured book on WNIJ (Northern Public Radio) Morning Editions Read With Me. Host Dan Klefstad and I will discuss my novel. I will also be reading an excerpt. It is scheduled to air on Monday, June 18.

I hope you can take the time to listen. But, if you unable, it will post on the WNIJ website with a video reading as well!

By going to the Read With Me series section on their website, you can also read past interviews and listen/watch excerpts of the featured books!

I am working on some appearances and will be posting those as soon as they are finalized.

05/03/18 - Hello to you all! As you can see I've been away for a long time. My apologies. BUT, I am back and with my return, I bring you the next chapter in my Mission to the Stars series. Arbitration is complete! The Editing is done, covers are finalized, and the formatting is complete. All that is left s to proof the novel! May 25, 2018 is the scheduled release date and it looks like a pretty solid date. A short explanation on why it took so long to get this book into your hands. I was never really happy with the final product of The Search for FTL and Hostile Takeover. This is no reflection on anyone in the past that helped me get those books out. We were all new to the many steps and procedures to editing and publishing. The time and opportunity presented itself to revisit these novels and make them much better. It was quite the process to do three books at once! My editor, Lisa Roettger (Watchword Editing), and Shawn, who formatted the books, were very busy! What is available to you now are completely re-edited versions of these books. I think you will enjoy them even more! Of course, Arbitration is as ready as it can be! I will be updating you all on book signings and other events as they become available.

Are you wondering what is next? I have a few projects in the fire. As you can guess, one is the fourth installment in the Mission to the Stars series, another is a totally new story that is developing nicely. I will post a little more about that as it progresses. And lastly, I am considering turning one of my short stories into a full novel, but that will be a discussion for another time!

For now, sit back grab the Mission to Stars series and enjoy!
(I will be posting a preview of Arbitration as soon as I finish the proof! so stand by!!)

                                                                         Regards,
                                                                        Ted

01/14/2016 - HELLO EVERYONE! IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE POSTED, BUT AS PROMISED, THIS POST WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH BOOK THREE OF THE MISSION TO THE STARS SERIES ENTITLED: ARBITRATION! I HAVE BEEN HARD AT WORK DOING THE THIRD AND FINAL EDIT OF THE SEARCH FOR FTL (BOOK ONE). YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHY A THIRD EDIT? IT'S SIMPLE. AS I HAVE PROGRESSED IN MY WRITING I HAVE FOUND THAT I HAVE BEEN LEARNING WITH EVERY BOOK. I FELT THAT WHILE WE DID A SECOND EDIT AND RELEASE OF BOOK ONE, IT STILL NEEDED TWEAKING TO TRULY MAKE IT A GREAT BOOK. I FEEL THAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THAT WITH THIS FINAL EDIT. BOOK TWO WAS MUCH OF THE SAME. IT JUST NEEDED A LITTLE TLC TO MAKE IT GREAT, THUS THE SECOND EDIT AND EDITION. IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS I WILL BE REMOVING CURRENT VERSIONS OF THE SEARCH FOR FTL AND HOSTILE TAKEOVER FROM ALL MEDIA VENUES IN PREPARATION FOR THE RE-RELEASE OF ONE AND TWO, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE RELEASE OF BOOK THREE. MY PLAN IS TO RELEASE ALL THREE BOOKS AT ONCE. I THINK I HAVE BEEN WAITING AS LONG AS ALL OF YOU! SO NOW, WITH OUT FURTHER DELAY, THE RELEASE DATE WILL BE..... DRUM ROLL PLEASE..... FRIDAY JULY 8TH, 2016!! THAT MAY SEEM LIKE A LONG WAY OFF BUT IT IS NECESSARY. I AM HOPING TO GET SOME SIGNINGS LINED UP TO COINCIDE WITH THAT DATE SO PLEASE CHECK BACK AND I WILL POST ACCORDINGLY. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED BOOK ONE AND TWO, I WILL BE WORKING ON A GREATLY DISCOUNTED RATE ON THE NEW EDITIONS. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR YOUR PATIENCE WHILE I WORKED ON THIS MASSIVE UNDERTAKING. IT REALLY WAS LIKE WORKING ON THREE BOOKS AT ONCE!! I TRULY THINK YOU WILL FEEL THAT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!

AS ALWAYS,
KEEP READING!!!

01/25/15 - So it has taken a while for me to put up a new post but here I am back at it with good news for everyone. My first edit that I received from Lisa my editor has been completed and returned to her for the second round. While I was doing the first edit I decided that a clean up of Book 2 Hostile Takeover should be done as well, and also a 3rd and final rewrite of Book 1 The Search for FTL. Yes, that will be the 3rd edition and some of you have bought both, 1st and 2nd editions, but I have moved forward as a better writer since that first book and want to make it the best it can be! I will have a special deal for those of you that have done that and more details about that will be explained before the release of Book 3 Arbitration.  So now things are moving along. My design for the cover of Arbitration is about to begin as well. I hope to be showing you that with in the next couple of months as we move along with all the current edits and rewrites! Book four synopsis will resume this week! I am looking forward to bringing you all more updates on all these projects as we move forward.

Until then and as always,
Keep Reading!!

08/11/14 - Exciting times! I have had some great things occur during the time I last posted. The biggest thing that happened was that over this past weekend I received my first edit of Book 3: Arbitration back from my editor. Ouch! Now it is time to dive right in and get to work! I am looking forward to this process. I know that some writers just do not enjoy editing, I do. I feel that with each edit I can grow as a writer. You know that it is said that you learn something new every day? Well, I learn something new with every edit! Stay tined and as soon as we get a date for a release I will post it!

The next really fun thing that I got do was help my niece with a
Gishwhes project! For those who aren't familiar with Gishwhes, it is the largest online scavenger hunt and runs for one week every summer. A team of 15 from across the country either gather in person or online to accomplish approximately 150 objectives, each are a assigned a point value. The team with the most points win, simple enough. One of the items this year was to get a previously published science fiction author to write a short 140 word story. Not as easy as it seems because it had to involve Misha (the hunts host), The Queen and England, and an Elepus (head of an elephant - body of an octopus)!  We had fun! If you click here you can read our short but silly Ghiswhes story!

07/14/14 - I am excited to bring you all a first look at an Arenian from Book three of the Mission to the Stars series! It has been quite a while from first imagining this new race, then on paper, to an actual image. He is as I was hoping for! My Alien creator and ship builder, Kirk, has been hard at work to make this guy what I had written. We are not quite done tweaking him yet but we will get there. I wanted to share this image because that means that we are indeed, getting closer to having 'Arbitration' on the self, to your electronic device  or to your doorstep! Kirk is hard at work on another image for the cover but I will have to hold back on that until we get closer! I know a lot of you have been waiting patiently for Arbitration and I hope that the end product will have been worth the wait. This book was so much fun to write! Till my next post...

07/03/14 - I was thinking of how lucky we are to live in this country. While we all know it is not perfect, we are allowed to pursue our dreams. We can write, read and say what we want. We are free. I'd like to share a quote with you:
“The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object.”
Thomas Jefferson
I would like to wish my readers, friends and family all a very Happy and Safe 4th of July!
Regards,
Ted

06/25/14 -  This a big welcome to you all!  Today is the day we roll out the new website! I couldn't be more exciited! I know my last update on the old site was back in May of last year, way too long ago. A lot has happened since that post. The biggest change has been in the editing department. I have switched editors. I had been with Katrina since the very beginning (2009), and she has been a large part of my writing world. The workload at her full time job has become increasingly enormous and her passion for editing had to be put on hold. We continue to be close friends and I wish her the best of luck always! WatchWord Editing will be my new home. I am very lucky to have found Lisa. I believe that together, we will publish great books for you!

Next is the fact that I have completed the manuscript for Book Three in the Mission to the Stars series. It will be entitled Arbitration. It now rests in Lisa's capable hands. We have not set a release date yet but when we do you'll find it here! As we tweak Book Three, Book Four's synopsis is rolling along. I am working on some other projects as well so stay tuned.

It took a lot of work to master the art of web building (which, honestly, I still haven't mastered). While I find it easy to imagine new worlds and get it down in words, I find it pretty tough to do this computer stuff. But this was a lot of fun. I'd like to thank my son Nate for his incredible patience while trying to teach me how to build a great site! I hope you will think it is as well. Please leave my your feed back in the comments section!

Keep reading and writing,
Ted
